In New France before the British Conquest, Marie, an indigenous slave, serves the local surgeon. Her daily life of household chores is bleak and alienating. The encounter with a young girl she presumes to be her child will give her motivation to undertake radical actions.
A film depicting the life and sad love of Park Yeon, a musician in the Joseon Dynasty who created the 12 Yulgwan and Hwangjongcheok to establish standard melodies and improve musical instruments. This is the story of "Nangye Park Yeon", one of Korea's three major villains who helped King Sejong the Great in the early Joseon Dynasty to establish the foundation of the country through courtesy and music. Baek-ah, a gayageum master and gisaeng, shares a noble love with Park Yeon, but it is not smooth. Park Yeon repeatedly failed to produce the 12 Yulgwan and Hwangjongcheok, which are the standards for harmonious sound but completed and succeeded after several years.

In April of 1945, Germany stands at the brink of defeat with the Russian Army closing in from the east and the Allied Expeditionary Force attacking from the west. Sissi is now the empress of Austria and attempts to learn etiquette. While she is busy being empress she also has to deal with her difficult new mother-in-law, while the arch-duchess Sophie is trying to tell the emperor how to rule and also Sissi how to be a mother.
1957
After a wonderful time in Hungary Sissi falls extremely ill and must retreat to a Mediterranean climate to rest. The young empress’ mother takes her from Austria to recover in Madeira.
