Adrift

2004

"Adrift" is shot on the arctic island of Spitzbergen and in Norway. It combines time-lapse photography with stop-motion animation of the landscape. Through camera-angles and framing the film gradually dislocates the viewer from a stable base where one loses the sense of scale and grounding.

Passion for Snow combines firsthand accounts from early ski pioneers, veterans of the 10th Mountain Division, Olympians, members of the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame and top ski industry and resort executives, who explain how the most remotely located college in the Ivy League helped spawn a $25 billion industry, and continues to shape it today.

Talking to two fishermen made me realize I have never looked at Hong Kong from their perspective. Urban Diary tries to look at Hong Kong and see our shoreline from the sea. We filmed the two fishermen in action, getting on their fishing boat, experiencing fishing and looking at the ongoing reclamation of the harbour with them.

Bass Man

Takahiro Omori came to the U.S. from Japan in 1992 with the goal of becoming a professional bass fisherman. Bass Man finds Takahiro during the 2001 season, the year that began his rise to superstardom against all odds in a sport that’s on its way to becoming the next NASCAR. Takahiro looks to two icons of the sport, Rick Clunn and Jay Yelas, to try and unlock the secrets of their successes and becomes torn between their opposing philosophies on life, God and fishing. Bass Man is an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at this wildly popular and sometimes bizarre sport- the icons, the fans, the history, and the professional fishermen, some forging careers the likes of rock stars, others just struggling to survive.
