A story exploring the Chinese legal system follows a man who is determined to uncover the mystery behind his parents' deaths. Orphaned and homeless after the death of his parents, a young Tang Ji Bai gets adopted by Dong Fang Huo. Years later, Tang Ji Bai grows up to be a successful legal professor while Dong Fang Zhi has become an ace lawyer. Tang Ji Bai becomes embroiled in a case that lands him in prison. Even though he acts uncharacteristically towards her, Dong Fang Zhi is determined to help Ji Bai clear his name. Meanwhile, Ma Ze'an who is the young owner of Tian Jin Law Firm becomes attracted to Dong Fang Zhi and starts to boldly pursue her.
